President attended the Cultural Ceremony at Harrow Leisure Centre, London
President Maitripala Sirisena attended the Cultural Pageant at the Harrow Leisure Centre in the afternoon of 21 April 2018, organised by the Sri Lanka Education, Cultural and Welfare Foundation and the Kingsbury Buddhist Temple, London presided over by its patron, Aggamahapanditha Ven. Galayaye Piyadassi Thero.
A large gathering of Sri Lankans around 4000 from all over the United Kingdom were present at this ceremony held at the Harrow Leisure Centre.
The President was warmly welcomed on arrival at the ceremony, which was conducted observing traditional customs and rituals of Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
The President who joined the event conveyed well wishes to all the Sri Lankans residing in Britain appreciating the New Year held with Sri Lankan traditions. He said that the values and traditions of a country are more important than the laws and regulations.
