General Information on Consular Services


Opening hours of the Consular Section – Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 1.00pm. (Except holidays observed by the High Commission) ** Click here to view the High Commission holidays
All original documents must be submitted along with photocopies. (on single side of A4 size paper). Translations are not accepted.
Additional amount will be charged if the photocopies are taken from the High Commission.
Method of payment – Debit or Credit cards and Postal order/Banker’s draft. Please note that only personal Debit/Credit cards are accepted. Corporate Debit/Credit cards, Diners Cards and American Express Cards are not accepted.
(Postal order/banker’s draft should be drawn in favour of Sri Lanka High Commission).

Submission of applications at the Consular Section of the High Commission for consular services except for Emergency Passports, Life Certificates for pension matters of senior citizens, Applications for Visas  and Application for Death Certificates is strictly by prior appointment. A separate appointment is required for each application.

We regret our inability to provide consular services to those who walk-in without prior appointments.
