Sri Lankan Officer Cadet Mohammed Aneek has been officially Commissioned as an officer following his successful completion of the rigorous 44-week training programme at the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. The Commissioning Ceremony took place during the Sovereign’s Parade on 9 August 2024, a revered Sandhurst tradition marking the culmination of intense training for officer cadets.

In the wake of incidents of public disorder in some parts of the United Kingdom, I wish to highlight that President Ranil Wickremesinghe personally inquired on the situation in the UK and ascertained the wellbeing and protection of the Sri Lankan community.
