Candlelight Remembrance Vigil for Sri Lankans Affected by Cyclone Ditwah Successfully Held in London

The Sri Lanka High Commission in London successfully organised a Candlelight Remembrance Vigil on 13 December 2025, bringing together members of the Sri Lankan community and supporters to honour those affected by Cyclone Ditwah.

The vigil provided a solemn and reflective space for participants to pay tribute to those impacted by the disaster, lighting candles as a symbol of hope and solidarity. The event highlighted the resilience of the Sri Lankan community and the importance of standing together in times of adversity. The programme commenced with a moment of silence, followed by the lighting of candles, symbolising unity, remembrance, and compassion. Addressing the gathering, the High Commissioner highlighted the enduring resilience of the Sri Lankan people and emphasised the importance of collective action and continued support for recovery, rehabilitation, and rebuilding efforts in Sri Lanka.
The High Commission expressed gratitude to all participants for their presence and solidarity, reinforcing the message: “Let’s Rebuild Sri Lanka Together.”
