Sri Lanka Craft Exhibition & Dialogue 2025 Showcases the Island’s Creative Strength and Global Partnerships in London
The High Commission of Sri Lanka in London, in collaboration with the Institute for Future Creations (TIFC), London College of Fashion at the University of the Arts London (UAL), and the EU Culture Relation Platform, successfully hosted Crafting Sri Lanka’s Global Future: Exhibition & Dialogue 2025 on 3 December 2025 at the Sri Lanka High Commission. The event brought together around 70 participants, including academics, designers, and creative-industry partners from the UK, EU, and Sri Lanka, to celebrate the country’s craft heritage, and international collaborations, as part of the Creative Sri Lanka 2030 initiative.

Mineral Sector Investments promoted in the UK by the Sri Lanka High Commission
The High Commission of Sri Lanka in London, in partnership with Capital Metals PLC, hosted a joint promotional event to facilitate discussions on emerging opportunities within Sri Lanka’s mineral sector, with particular focus on the Taprobane Minerals Project. The event brought together UK-based investors, corporate representatives, fund managers, and industry specialists for a constructive exchange aimed at fostering dialogue and exploring prospective investment avenues associated with the Taprobane Minerals Project, which is listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange through its Sri Lankan company, Ambeon Capital PLC.
Sri Lanka Shines at World Travel Market (WTM) 2025: Showcasing the Island’s Tourism Excellence to the World
In collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), the High Commission of Sri Lanka in London proudly marked a remarkable level of participation by the nation’s tourism industry at WTM 2025, held from 4–6 November 2025 at the ExCel London. A delegation of 92 leading travel and tourism partners represented the island, highlighting its vibrant and rapidly growing tourism sector to an international audience. The Sri Lanka Pavilion provided a dynamic platform for B2B meetings, networking, and collaboration between global travel and hospitality professionals.

Sri Lanka High Commission in London hosts a Round Table Discussion on Sri Lankan Crafts
The High Commission of Sri Lanka in the UK, together with the National Crafts Council of Sri Lanka (NCC), hosted a Round Table Discussion on Sri Lankan crafts on 22.09.2025. Over 25 participants attended, including academics from the London College of Fashion (UAL), an EU Craft Work Project expert, entrepreneurs, retailers, representatives from the Sri Lanka–UK Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Sri Lanka Association, writers, and craft enthusiasts.
Sri Lanka’s AI– Investment Opportunities and Disrupt Asia-2025 promoted in London
A panel discussion to promote investment opportunities in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Sri Lanka, jointly organised by the Sri Lanka–UK Chamber of Commerce- London (SLUKCC) and the High Commission of Sri Lanka, was held on 31.07.2025 at the High Commission premises. The panel comprised the distinguished professional and academic invitees- Professor Harin Sellahewa, Dean Faculty of Computing, Law and Psychology, University of Buckingham, Mr. Sanjay Bowry, Chief Financial Officer, Gravitee and the Co-founder, VBG Brands Ltd- UK, Dr. Ashok Suppiah, Sustainability Champion Author and the Co-founder Mitra & Experienz- UK, Mr. Kumi Thiruchelvam, Chief Commercial Officer of My Voice AI and the Chairman, Neural Voice AI, Independent Angel Investor (UK, Sri Lanka) and Mr. Eranga Pathirage, President of the SLUKCC and the Chief People Officer, Kaya Global Inc,- UK. Around 45 participants and industry leaders attended this event.
“Ceylon Tea” promoted at Darwin College, Cambridge University- UK
The High Commission of Sri Lanka in London, jointly with the Darwin College Tea Society of Cambridge University and the International Tea Committee (ITC) in the UK, conducted a Ceylon Tea Tasting and awareness session on 01st March 2025 at the historic Darwin Hall of the Darwin College. The programme was held under the theme of the Darwin College Tea Society, titled ‘Travel with Tea’ and as a part of its annual cultural promotion activities. Ms. Agustina Villalba, the President of the Darwin College Tea Society, together with her Treasurer Mr. Kui Li, worked closely with Mr. Somasena Mahadiulwewa, Minister (Commercial) of Sri Lanka High Commission and Mr. Suranga James Perea, Executive Director of the ITC-UK to organize this tea tasting evening.
