High Commissioner Rohitha Bogollagama promotes Sri Lanka processed-food products at Fortnum & Mason, London
On 21.10.2024, High Commissioner Rohitha Bogollagama, together with the officials of the High Commission of Sri Lanka in United Kingdom, visited Fortnum & Mason (F&M) Head Office in London and met with Mr. Tom Athron, the CEO and Ms. Ottilie Cunningham, Tea & Coffee Buyer of F&M who recently visited Sri Lanka to source high quality Ceylon Tea.
The objective of the meeting was to promote Sri Lanka’s main and high-quality processed food export products to F&M. High Commissioner Bogollagama introduced products with a presentation on the potential export brands of Sri Lanka and encouraged F&M to engage with Sri Lanka’s processed food export portfolio.
Following the detailed discussion, CEO Mr Athron expressed his team’s keen interest to obtain more information on canned, bottled and packed food and beverages, cinnamon, virgin coconut oil, kitul treacle, roasted-curry leaves cashew and burnt cashew, sesame made sweet products etc, from Sri Lanka, and requested to arrange relevant product samples. Discussion also focussed on the collaborative promotional events on Ceylon Tea, Ceylon cinnamon and spices, Sri Lanka food and cuisine etc, that could be organised at F&M London in the future with tasting, sampling and display sessions etc.
