The High Commission of Sri Lanka in the United Kingdom conducted a mobile consular service in Manchester

On 27 June 2026, the High Commission of Sri Lanka in the United Kingdom conducted a Mobile Consular Service in Manchester alongside Sri Lanka Day 2026.

The service supported approximately 140 members of the community from across the region, providing a range of consular services including birth registration applications, passport renewals, dual citizenship matters, powers of attorney, and other consular services.
The initiative was led by Second Secretary Ms Janani Sivapakthan, together with consular staff from the High Commission.
This Mobile Consular Service reflects the High Commission’s ongoing commitment to delivering accessible, responsive, and community-focused consular support to Sri Lankans across the United Kingdom.
The Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the United Kingdom also attended the Sri Lanka Day 2026 celebrations and addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of preserving Sri Lankan cultural heritage and strengthening the longstanding people-to-people ties between Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom.
