Sri Lanka Tourism showcases at World Travel Market in London

World Travel Market (WTM), the leading global event of Travel and Tourism Trade kicked off on 06 November 2023 at the Excel Exhibition Hall, London, UK promoting international travel throughout the world. WTM attracts more than 50,000 visitors, 5,000 trade partners (exhibitors) and over 3000 journalists around the world each year. The event was held for three days from 06-08 November 2023. With the intention of promoting Sri Lanka as a renowned destination in world travel, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) with the support of the Sri Lanka High Commission in London participated in the event, along with 73 partners of the industry.

A Business Delegation from the National Chamber of Exporters (NCE) concludes a successful visit to the United Kingdom

As an initiative of the SLHC London, a twelve-member business delegation representing the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) visited the UK from 11th to 16th September 2023. The visit was aimed at further fostering trade and investment ties between the two countries and exploring new opportunities in the UK market, which absorbs 10% of Sri Lanka’s exports. The delegation headed by Secretary General of the NCE, Shiham Marikar, comprised representatives of leading Sri Lankan exporting companies i.e., Imperial Teas, Link Natural Products, LAUGFS Rubber Corporation, City Cycle Industries, Fanam International, Ruhunu Lanka Minerals, Senikma Holdings and Stay Naturals.

High Commissioner Saroja Sirisena attends the Opening ceremony of Birmingham Buddhist Maha Vihara

 

The largest stupa in Europe at the Birmingham Buddhist Maha Vihara was opened to the public on 16 September 2023 by Ven. Dr. Witharandeniye Kassapa Nayaka Thera O.B.E, the Chief Incumbent of Birmingham Buddhist Maha Vihara, Deputy Chief Sangha Nayaka of Great Britain, and the Vice President of Sri Lankan Sangha Sabha of Great Britian. High Commissioner Saroja Sirisena attended the opening ceremony on the invitation of Ven. Dr. Witharandeniye Kassapa Nayaka Thera on 16 September 2023.

  1. Request letter addressed to the relevant authority through Sri Lanka High Commission, London. The letter needs to be consisted with all the contact details of the relevant authority.
  2. Previous Leave approved Letter
  3. Passport
  4. Valid Visa
  5. An utility bill to prove the residing address
  6. Any other supporting documents related to the request

Please note that all supporting documents should be submitted in originals with 01 set of photocopies of each, on one side of A4 size paper.

* The applicant should be present to hand over the request.

*There is a fee of GBP 20/= for processing the request.
