Sri Lanka’s Tri Forces participate at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee pageant
At the invitation of the Government of the United Kingdom, a contingent of Sri Lanka’s Tri Forces participated at the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee pageant held on Sunday, 05 June 2022.
In 2022, the Queen Elizabeth II became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service. The pageant was organised as a part of a series of celebrations that took place from 02 – 05 June in honour of the Queen. It comprised many segments including a military spectacle and cultural performances.

New Foreign Secretary Aruni Wijewardane assumes duties
The new Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aruni Wijewardane assumed duties at the Foreign Ministry on 23 May, 2022. She was appointed as the Secretary with effect from 20 May, 2022.
