The High Commission of Sri Lanka in London, United Kingdom held its Annual Ifthar reception on 25th May to commemorate the month of Ramadan, with the participation of the Sri Lankan community living in the UK.

Interactive Investor Forum Promoting the Real Estate Market in Sri Lanka

The High Commission of Sri Lanka in the United Kingdom facilitated an interactive investor forum organised by the Research and Intelligence Unit (RIU) to promote the Real Estate Market in Sri Lanka. The event was held at the High Commission on 17th May 2018.
A message from Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of Finance and Mass Media was read out at the event. The Acting High Commissioner Sugeeshwara Gunaratna, in his welcome address, highlighted the economic strengths and challenges the country currently faces. He also spoke on opportunities for potential investors, who wish to invest in Sri Lanka.

Special Screening of an Episode of the TV Serial ‘Made in Chelsea’ at the High Commission of Sri Lanka

The Sri Lanka High Commission in London along with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau hosted a special screening on 02nd May 2018 of an episode of the popular TV serial ‘Made in Chelsea,’ which was filmed in Sri Lanka. The event was attended by a number of travel journalists including the Chairman of the British Guild of Travel Writers, representatives of Shangri-La Hotels, Massey Partnership & actors and actresses starring in the TV show.
Sri Lanka Participated at the ‘Natural and Organic Products Europe’, in London from 22nd- 23rd April 2018
The Sri Lanka High Commission facilitated the participation of Sri Lanka Tea Board and four (04) Sri Lankan companies at the ‘Natural & Organic Products Europe’ trade show held from 22nd- 23rd April 2018 at ExCel, London. Euro-Scan Exports Private Ltd, Hidellana Tea Factory Private Ltd, Vivo Tea Company Ceylon Private Ltd and Lions Management Private Ltd took part in the trade show.

President Maithripala Sirisena represented Sri Lanka at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting and participated in connected meetings and events in London from 16 to 21 April 2018. The formal Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting consists of the pre-meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, the formal meeting of the Heads of Government and the Leaders Retreat. President attended the Cultural Ceremony at Harrow Leisure Centre, London
President Maitripala Sirisena attended the Cultural Pageant at the Harrow Leisure Centre in the afternoon of 21 April 2018, organised by the Sri Lanka Education, Cultural and Welfare Foundation and the Kingsbury Buddhist Temple, London presided over by its patron, Aggamahapanditha Ven. Galayaye Piyadassi Thero.
